MAKERSPACE CLUB

Makerspace Club is open to all students in grades 6-8. We have been busy working with coding apps on the iPads, creating with Legos and SnapCircuits, and using the Design Pro Challenge game. Coming up we will be working more on designing projects for the 3D printer and using the green screen to create movies. If there are any questions, please see Ms. Tasich in the library.  Upcoming meeting dates:  Thursday, November 16th, Thursday, December 7th and Thursday, January 4th.

BOOK CLUB

We had a fun meeting on Tuesday, November 7th talking about books and genres we love and playing rousing games of Literary Pictionary and Apples to Apples. At our next meeting on Tuesday, November 21st, we are excited to begin creating book trailer videos, which will be posted on the ACMS Media Center website. All students are welcome to join!

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

In Photography Club this month, students will focus on the use of lighting in photography. We will explore how different angles of light can affect our photos. Students will use their knowledge of lighting as they complete a collage of photos that reflect who they think they are.  Our next meetings will be Tuesday, November 14th and Tuesday, November 28th.

CHESS CLUB

Next meeting will be Monday, November 13th!

ART CLUB

This month in art club we have already created ceramic tiles with drawings on them that have been sealed so that they can be used as coasters, or just as a work of art!  Later on in the month we will be doing tie-dye!  For the art club meeting on Thursday, November 30th I have asked that each art club member bring a white item.  This could be a t-shirt, tote bag, apron, socks, etc.  Questions?  Send me an email at swarren@gpsne.org

WRITING CLUB

On November 6, Writing Club’s Fall newspaper came out. Many students have enjoyed reading the work of their peers. Students can still read the newspaper by visiting their English teacher’s classroom. Also, in the spirit of thankfulness this month, students will be writing thank you notes at our next meeting, which is Monday, November 20. It’s a great way for students to be creative and use their writing as a positive influence. New members are always welcome at Writing Club!
